ALTER ÉPOQUE ATELIER: Sew with Intention
Designer-Led Upcycling & Sewing Sessions.
Hands-on sewing + upcycling classes for those that want clothes that mean something.
Upcycling as design. Sewing as a tool. Wardrobes built with intention.
Alter Époque Atelier is where sewing meets design thinking.
You will sew in these sessions — but you’ll also learn how designers think: how to find inspiration, sketch ideas, evaluate garments, and make choices that result in pieces you’ll actually wear.
This is not about random projects.
It’s about building a wardrobe that reflects who you are becoming.
Sessions start at $125 — limited to 4 people per class.
Upcoming Sessions (Sundays | 1–4PM)
Feb 22 • Mar 1 • Mar 15 • Mar 22 • Mar 29
WHY THESE CLASSES EXIST
Anyone can learn how to sew a seam.
What most people struggle with is knowing what to make — and why.
After nearly two decades designing garments, working in costume, and curating both handmade and manufactured pieces, I’ve learned that the most valuable skill isn’t technique alone — it’s discernment.
These classes exist to help you:
Find inspiration intentionally
Understand garments from the inside out
Build pieces that earn their place in your wardrobe
Learn in community, not isolation
You don’t have to do this alone.
And you don’t have to be perfect to begin.
WHAT YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH
Every Alter Époque Atelier session is designed to leave you more confident — not overwhelmed.
You’ll leave with:
A sewn or partially reimagined garment
A sketch and concept for your piece
A deeper understanding of garment construction and fit
Tools to build a cohesive, wearable wardrobe over time
New language around care, longevity, and personal style
Community connections with people who care about craft
This is not about copying a designer’s vision — it’s about learning how to build your own.

BUILDING A DESIGNER WARDROBE
Alter Époque Atelier is part of a larger philosophy: The Art of Becoming.
Rather than creating isolated projects, these sessions help you build a wardrobe with intention — one piece at a time.
Students receive a simple pre-class reflection to help connect each garment to their personal style and long-term wardrobe goals.
This work will also be documented through an ongoing series: Upcycling My Dream Wardrobe — worn, lived in, and evolved over time.
